William J. Hunemuller

             William Joseph Hunemuller was born April 14, 1954 at Sumner, Iowa the son of Leslie G. and Kathryn Lucille (Morris) Hunemuller.  He was baptized in 1954 and confirmed in 1968 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sumner.  In 1972 he graduated from Sumner Community High School.  Bill served 6 years in the United States National Guard.  On November 3, 1979, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Kay Price at Faith Baptist Church in Oelwein.  In 1979, Bill accepted Christ as his personal savior.  He attended Grace Baptist Church in Waverly.  Over the years Bill was an electronic technician and farmer.  He attended Hawkeye Tech. and AIC in Cedar Falls.  For the last 17 years he had been employed with Tyson’s as a rebuild maintenance mechanic.  His interests included old antique radios, music, playing guitar, toy trains and Spanish.  Bill adored his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

            His death occurred sudddenly on Friday, June 15, 2012, at his home from natural causes. He was fifty-eight years old.

            Bill is survived by his Wife, Kathy Hunemuller of Tripoli, Iowa;4 Children, Jason (Vannette) Hunemuller of Sumner, Iowa,Nathan (Melissa) Hunemuller of Fredericksburg, Iowa,Kristi (Trevor Beem) Hunemuller of Waverly and Jared Hunemuller of Tripoli, Iowa;4 Grandchildren, Cheyenne, Landan, Kesley and Ember;Mother, Kathryn Hunemuller of Sumner;Brother, Ron (Nita) Hunemuller of Anchorage, Alaska;Sister, Mary (William “Bill”) Schulte of Coralville, Iowa; and many Nieces and Nephews.

          He was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents; and his Father, Leslie in 2008.

          Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Grace Baptist Church in Waverly with Pastor Jim Lee officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli and after 9:30 A.M. at the church on Wednesday. Interment: Freemont Cemetery, rural Tripoli with Military Honors by Brandenburg-Krueger Post #4013, V.F.W. of Tripoli, Iowa. A Memorial Fund has been established in his name.
